  1. This is definitely a fish bone braid or fish tail braid. It’s like French braiding only you have 2 sections instead of 3.
You section the hair you’d like to braid, for beginners just part your hair down the middle as shown above. Now you have 2 pieces.

Start by pulling a chunk Of hair from the outside of the left side, make go over the left section and then under the right side where it becomes a new section in the right piece. So you pull the strand from the left side to the right side.

Now pull a piece from the right to the left. Remember to make it an outside piece, it goes over the right section and joined with the bottom of the left side.

Continue pulling strands all the way down and use an elastic to secure it.
In general, try to use the same thickness of each strand otherwise your braid will be uneven. For a more intricate braid, use skinny sections. For beginners, use thicker sections and pull them tight to properly learn the method. Wet hair usually cooperates as well. After learning the method, try adding hair pieces and flowers into the braid.

If the braid feels too tight, gently massage the scalp or braid. As you perfect the technique, try pulling the “loops” out some for a messier look.
